senpai maria

3rd Degree Black Belt

Training since 2009

Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, EMT Certification (2019)

Senpai Maria started training under Sensei Roberto Curtis when she was 9 years old. When she was 15 years old, she received her 1st dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma on the island of Guam. In June 2018, she graduated from South County High School in Lorton, VA and is now a Biology major at George Mason University with an interest in going to Medical School. She continues to train with affiliated dojos and was recently promoted to her 3rd dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma (2019).
senpai Miguel

2nd Degree Black Belt

Training since 2009

Red Cross - Adult, Child, and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (Jan 2019)

In 2009, Senpai Miguel began learning the art of traditional Okinawan karate under Sensei Roberto Curtis. He was promoted to his 1st dan in 2015 by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma. He is currently a student at the Northern Virginia Community College and hopes to soon transfer to George Mason University. In July 2018, he received his 2nd dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma.

1st Degree Black Belt

Training since 2009

Senpai Kirida was 5 years old when she started learning traditional Okinawan karate under Sensei Roberto Curtis. She was recently promoted to her 1st dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma (2018). She is now 15 years old and a sophomore at South County High School. She is very involved with marching band, band concerts, indoor drumline, as well as, the Nativity Youth Choir.  
senpai Carmen

4th Degree Black Belt

Training since 1993

Senpai Carmen began training on the island of Guam under Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma. In 2009, she began studying under Sensei Roberto Curtis and received her 1st dan under Hanshi Seikichi Iha. During the summer of 2018, she was promoted to 4th dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma. Senpai Carmen is an elementary school counselor, as well as, a mother of three children.
Senpai Robert

7th Degree Black Belt

Training since 1984

Senpai Robert started his karate discipline when he was 16 years old under the instruction of Hanshi Seigi Shiroma (Director of the Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do Asia-Pacific Shidokan) on the island of Guam. He received his 1st and 2nd dan under Grandmaster Katsuya Miyahira in Okinawa. Senpai Robert's commitment to the art of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate influenced his three kids and wife to start training with him. In 2019, he was promoted to his 7th dan by Grandmaster Seigi Shiroma.
